About Support The Kid
History – Support The Kid was founded in 2010 by Nicholas Wolber and friends. Nick was touched by the spirit and innocence of the children he encountered during his time in treatment at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital in New York. He relished the big brother role and playing with the kids to brighten their day. When Nick was finally cancer-free and had established a career for himself, he began work on planting the seeds of what would become Support the Kid. Since inception, we have donated over 1 Million dollars to 200+ children across the United States.
Our Organization – We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit with no employees or consultants on payroll. The foundation is currently run by a board of four family members along with associated regional and specialized volunteer representatives. All STK representatives volunteer their time, knowledge, resources and energies to the cause. We make a focused effort to ensure that non-essential expenses are minimized so that each donation’s value can be maximized. Our goal is to ensure that over 85% of each donation goes directly to the kids
Who We Help – We help families with a financial need with children under the age of 18 who are currently undergoing cancer treatment or have been treated within the last 6 months.
